We hiked up to the refuge—a hard but beautiful hike with splendid views at every turn. The refuge is a lovely mix of historical charm and modern comforts. The rooms are comfortable and the food is great! When the last train leaves for the valley, the solitude is so peaceful. It had no downside in my mind. But if you are the kind of person who doesn’t like remote, quiet places, you won’t like it here.

We were welcomed for our 30th wedding anniversary and my wife’s birthday. The room was ready wonderfully. Julien was very attentive. The front desk person was gentle and perfectly listening. Thanks again to everyone.

This was a wonderful and unique experience. Train logistics were simple. The location was stunning. 360° views from this classic hotel that has maintained so much charm. The rooms have been tastefully updated—the shower was fantastic. The beds were comfortable. Highly recommend! The food was just “ok” and prices were a bit high for the food and drink you get.
