The JH was housed in a solid, historic building with spacious rooms. It was easy to spot from the main road (Järvedsleden) and thus easier to find. Parking was available in the back courtyard. Entry to the house required a code sent beforehand. Every floor had a kitchen with cooking facilities and refrigerators assigned by room number. Brochures about the nearby long‑distance trail and other tourist attractions were displayed. My bed was a large, carved canopy bed (sic!).

I stayed at this practical hostel that lets you cook for yourself, and it’s nicely positioned as a stop on the way north. The view is over a lake, and the charming old building is now part of an industrial area.

I found this hostel with two kitchens, and the room number is clearly marked in the kitchen so you can cook your own meals. There are two large common rooms and big bedrooms with high ceilings. It’s super easy to find. The location is perfect! Ö-Vik is a lovely town with water and mountains.
