It’s a good spot for a night before catching the ferry and the price is good. The building is under construction, the room is in a basement and shares a terrace with another room, and it’s located in a rough neighbourhood.

The price fit our budget. The host, who came over with great friendliness, showed us around and handed us the keys. The place answered phone calls right away. The neighborhood is far from tourist spots, in a suburban residential area with houses still under construction that reminded me of Dino Risi and Ettore Scola’s black‑and‑white Italian cinema, which was disappointing. The room sits in a basement, only lit and ventilated by an adjacent impluvium. The sense of suffocation stayed, especially since it’s far from the city center and the port even lacks a historic center, a rare thing in Italy.

The room was clean and nice for one night, just a 10‑minute drive from the seaport where you board. The host communicated well for check‑in without meeting in person. The room was in a basement with little shared with other rooms outside the sub‑terrain. There was no private parking, as advertised, but the neighborhood felt uneasy because it’s a new, unfinished building block surrounded by flats that have seen better days, so we didn’t feel totally secure with the parking, though nothing actually happened. The shampoo was a bit odd, four bottles, some empty.
