Over the past sixty years, my wife and I have stayed in many San Francisco hotels, but our stay at Donatello was outstanding; the location was perfect, our room was very nice and clean, the staff were great, and we appreciated the very nice shower. We will certainly return, though the climate control system in the room needs to be upgraded.

The location, cleanliness, and service were good, but there was no breakfast, no real business center, and no scanner.

It was centrally located, exceptionally clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and gave awesome service and attention to detail; it’s the only place I’ll stay in San Francisco moving forward. Nothing was negative.

The hotel is four‑star and the room was very good; the staff were friendly. Because of the category, I expected daily housekeeping, a thermos, and complimentary water and coffee to be refilled.

There was no hot water for the whole multiday stay, and the facility management offered neither compensation nor apologies.
