From the outside the pub looked really nice. It was a busy day but we were not greeted with cheerful staff and didn’t feel very welcome. The man took our money and showed us to our room; the only info we got from him was a code for the side door. The room was thick with dust especially on the side table and the room smelled of wet dog. Every time I moved to get comfortable on my bed it squeaked. We left as soon as we got up.

We stayed in a spacious family room, room five, with a double bed and two singles in an adjoining room, and the carpets were thick and nice. The beds felt like sleeping on air, though the TV reception was a bit hit and miss, which is common in many places. A small sign on the door warned us to mind the step.
