The spa area is nice, but we had to take our room towels to go to the pool and spa—unacceptable for a 5-star hotel! The bedding was too soft, the shower cabin too small, and water overflowed into the bathroom. Breakfast lacked quality and variety, with no gluten-free or lactose-free options. The furniture is a bit old. It does not live up to a 5-star standard and needs improvement.
The parking was fine, but the bed was uncomfortable, the linens and bathroom were damp and water pooled, and the water ran away from the tourist spots in Qism, Al‑Sultan, Shishli, Artakui, and Tarabi 🤷🏼.
“Weird Staff!!”
I liked the lobby area and the room space. The reception guy was so mean and didn’t know how to deal with customers—he kept staring at us and insisted that he had given me a triple room as a favor, even though I showed him the app that it was my reservation and that he hadn’t added anything extra. He seemed to want me to tip him. His customer service was so bad that even during checkout I said good morning and he didn’t reply. He just took the cards I left on the desk and kept staring at us—so weird!
I’ve been to Istanbul many times and have stayed at a lot of hotels, so I had high hopes for a 5‑star place like TRYP, but I didn’t feel it lived up to that standard. The room was missing a lot of basic 5‑star touches—no bathrobes, no toothpaste, and hardly any towels, plus no tissue paper at all. The flip‑flops they handed out were yellowish and looked used, and the staff’s welcome was flat and unenthusiastic, almost angry.
