We found the room spacious, clean, and especially quiet at night. The single beds were wide with good mattresses—maybe a bit firm for some, but firmer than too soft. The owners, Abdullah, Uncle Mohammed, and Brother Ali, were extremely friendly and helpful, even inviting us for Oman coffee and date halwa. A simple, inexpensive breakfast is served in the café right next door. Unfortunately, the room lacked a wardrobe, though that was no issue since we only stayed one night. In the bathroom, a shower curtain and shelves would be useful, and the Wi‑Fi was very weak and unstable (perhaps an extra repeater is needed).

“Gute Unterkunft für Erkundungen in der Nähe.”

The people were very nice and helpful. The location is great for exploring the Wadis (Sahtan and Awf). The view of the mountains is lovely. The mattress had plastic film on it, and there were street noises and construction sounds.

The family cooked a lunch for us at our request because there are no restaurants around, which was very kind! Check‑in went smoothly, and we thank the hosts a lot. Unfortunately, the surroundings are bleak and the room is very plain. In the morning we had no running water, which was probably just bad luck… Still, the stay was important for us as we started the climb to Jebel Hatt on bicycles.

“Niemals wieder”

The location was okay. Initially, despite intervention, I was not given the booked room—Kingsize with balcony—but instead a double bed facing the street. The bed had used sheets, which were later changed, but the blanket was not put on, and the mattress was covered with thick plastic film, which was uncomfortable. The bed was very short. The toilet flush didn’t work. The bathroom/shower was dirty and not cleaned. The next day I was promised a refund over the phone, but when I called again, no one could remember.
