The bed is comfortable and the room is warm. The price is very high, yet there is no coffee machine or even a mini fridge. The stairs are very dark. It is not suitable for people with disabilities.

“Expérience de plus décevantes.”

The place is beautiful, perfectly located on the shores of Lake Muncho. The reception was unfortunately awful. We had booked our room months in advance and had specifically requested to dine at the restaurant on our arrival night. Traveling by motorcycle, it is hard to move elsewhere once we arrive or to carry groceries with us. Despite our prior request, we were received in a particularly unpleasant manner and were told we could not dine because the restaurant was supposedly full. To our surprise, the dining room was far from full. We were then told that our reservation had not been taken into account because we had not specified an exact time. We had clearly explained that after several hundred kilometres on a motorcycle, it is difficult to predict an exact arrival time. We eventually had to insist for a long time to get a table in a restaurant that obviously had seats. Having to fight just to be able to dine when we had anticipated the situation months before is truly lamentable and unworthy of a place of this level. Moreover, we had been assured that the table was indeed reserved.

“Fine luxury in a very remote spot”

The place was fine for its location, and the front desk staff were great, but they seemed clueless about how the restaurant operated. After driving over eight hours I just wanted to eat, yet the kitchen had only one cook and one waitress, and I was told to wait over an hour because I had no table reservation; when I returned it felt like I was a nuisance. No water was offered, and the staff took their time serving a table of men who had already finished eating and were chatting. When my food finally arrived it was tasty, and the rooms were nice but noticeably dated.

“Wunderschöne Lodge am See, nicht nur für Angler und Jäger”

A larger complex with many cabins right on the lake, complete with a gas station and restaurant nearby, kept well and quiet. The downside is that the remote location means you have to pay a bit more.
