West Lea House

“Contractor property NOT holiday home”

The communication from the booking agents was good and they were easily contacted. This house is set up for contractors; for that purpose I guess it would fit the bill. This should not be booked if you want a holiday home. It is the same price as others in the area which are lovely holiday cottages. This property has no living room. It has multiple bedrooms. The area was not nice. The front of the property is overgrown (not like the photos) and it was covered in dog or cat poo. The whole place smelled of it. The outside bins were full of old work clothes so we could not empty the bins. The bedding was clean but worn out. The beds were cheap and uncomfortable. We were staying here as we needed a property close to a certain place. Others were all booked. If not for this we would have left. The most miserable experience I have had! If this was a holiday I would have been gutted.

“Not great at all”

There were enough beds for our group, but the sitting room did not have enough space for all of us to sit. The first house did not have a sitting room at all; you literally walk into the kitchen from the front door. The first house was very dirty, and when I sent a message about it, I was told it had been vacant/cleaned 9 days previously 😳. After a long back and forth, we were eventually moved to another house. This house was cleaner. However, access to the property was not convenient at all. My disabled mum had to contend with some very deep steps at the back of the house, not only that but this house was further away from where we had to go, a great inconvenience. The beds were not made properly, and the mattresses were very uncomfortable, especially the room downstairs where the mattress was just a bit of foam. Not great at all. When I asked for some money back, I was told no.

The whole house with 4 bedrooms was available, a quiet spot with parking. Inside, it was very cold and it took a while to heat up.
