Everything at the Citizen is phenomenal. The place is beautiful, centrally located with a magnificent view across the lake, the jacarandas, and the plaisir. Everything is absolutely neat and clean. The food is amazing—both dinner and breakfast feel too good to be true, all made with local ingredients.

We returned to the Citizen three times during our three‑week trip to Mada. Each time the staff was adorable, the rooms were clean and comfortable with a magnificent view of Tana, and the restaurant was DELICIOUS! Many thanks for the welcome; we will come back :)
