It’s a convenient spot if you’re exploring Lake Biwa or heading to Chikubu Island. The place has a slightly faded charm. The staff are efficient and the lobby looks nice. The hotel advertises a view from every room, but I was on the lowest floor and could only see a little, so I couldn’t fully enjoy it. I imagine it would be beautiful from a higher floor. There weren’t enough pillows, and the corners and edges of the wallpaper looked a bit grubby. I didn’t like the bedding setup: a sheet under a futon instead of a cover that encloses it, and I couldn’t tell how often the top cover is washed. I wish I’d brought my own cover! The hotel restaurants are a bit pricey and lack variety, especially since it’s no longer a top‑tier hotel. Overall it’s fine and the price is good, but a few things could be improved.
