“No es lo que esperaba”

The cabins are really pretty, spacious and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. They advertise being 15 min from Mazamitla, but that’s false; it actually takes almost half an hour by car, ten minutes longer than the hotel’s own estimate. They don’t warn that the access road is impassable unless you have a horse or a good truck, because driving can damage tires or puncture the lower part of the vehicle. This place doesn’t act like a hotel—it doesn’t clean during your stay, which is uncomfortable for stays longer than two days, and they won’t change towels or give toilet paper unless you ask for both. Noise travels from one cabin to another, and even at the bottom level you can hear music and full conversations, which is very annoying. A mop sat in the hallway for two days without anyone picking it up, and a pair of pants and a short hung on the railing for three days, ruining the “boutique” feel. On the last night a cabin played music at full volume, making it hard to relax or sleep. Finally, my cabin was missing a glass pane; instead of keeping the cold out it could let insects in because you’re in the woods, and some windows had dried lip marks, clearly showing they aren’t cleaned at all. For the price paid, it wasn’t what I expected.

Very clean and the food was delicious.

“Cabañas muy bonitas y limpias Personal amable.”

The cabins are roomy, very clean, and the whole staff is attentive and kind. The food was tasty and the breakfast was also good. The only downside was that our cabin had two trees outside, which was interesting, but they were open and I could hear people below and could see them passing by.
