“Freezing”

The location was fine. However, the bedroom was damp and cold, the bed felt wet along with the bedding, and the skylight let wind through the radiator. The radiator didn’t work, the bed was about 5 inches off the floor, there was no plug socket near the bed as advertised, and the TV was covered in dust. The bathroom was downstairs, behind the kitchen, so you had to walk past people cooking. Hot water was lukewarm, making a bath or shower impossible. I contacted the owners, who sent a photo of a summit on the wall to press, but that didn’t help.

I waited four hours to get in because he gave me the wrong code for the main door, and he didn’t answer my call. There was no toilet paper, and the carpet in the room was dirty.

The street was quiet, but the area felt unsafe for a lone woman and was quite far from town. I was assigned a top‑floor room that had its number changed at the last minute; the stairs were steep. The room was extremely basic—no bedside table, no lamp, and the door was just pinned with a number, no bolt or chain, so it felt unwelcoming. My remote’s battery died, so I couldn’t watch anything on TV. The bathroom was dull, and I felt anxious because another couple in the adjacent room was very loud. The smell of weeds was awful, so I didn’t shower because I didn’t feel comfortable.
