“Un sitio con encanto”
It’s a charming place that photos can’t do justice to. The breakfast is delicious, served with bread from the on‑site bakery. Amadou was very attentive and answered most of our questions even before we arrived. The cabins are large and pleasant. I’m glad we were persuaded to do the afternoon excursion to see the birdwatching, which was beautiful. Amadou offered to organize the trip, assuring us that with him we’d have his guarantee. We chose the Sipo beach and Bamboung park excursion. A very old boat with a dubious engine picked us up, and shortly after starting the route it broke down. They had to tow us. When we reached the Bamboung camp, we found that we had to pay a fee just to leave the “beach” (which is barely a beach), another for the trek, and another for the guide. The fish we were to eat stayed on the boat the whole time, over 30 degrees Celsius and without ice. Our mistake was not telling the hotel from the start, because they couldn’t repair the boat and we had to return on another. Fortunately, the second part of the excursion—the birdwatching—was spectacular and saved the day.
