Raja Beach Place

We went to this place last evening after our tuk‑tuk driver warned us that it wasn’t a good place to stay and that it was very unclean. At first, I didn’t believe him and thought he might have had a personal issue with the owners. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we realized he was right. This was not a proper hotel or guesthouse. The property was poorly maintained, dirty, and felt unsafe. The owner was rude and intimidating, which made us feel very uncomfortable. The entire place had a creepy atmosphere, and we decided not to stay. I would never recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation in Tangalle. There are much better and safer options available.

The place is quiet and only about a ten‑minute walk from the bus station. Raja is sweet and friendly. If I had to do it again, I would come back here.

The owner is excellent. The beach is right across the street. Many very close restaurants. The room was clean. There was no hot water, but that wasn’t really a problem because with the heat we liked the cool shower.

“Cosy guesthouse, very clean and welcoming”

Raja's place is very clean, comfortable, and cozy. Raja is welcoming and always helpful to accommodate you. The beach is in front of the house, and the bus station is within walking distance. Monkeys visit to eat leaves from the trees (live safari). If you have a light sleep, ask Raja for a room in front of the house, far from neighbors' dogs that bark a lot at night.
