“A hidden gem on the Zaan River – perfect base for Amsterdam”

We spent three nights in this charming apartment on an old ship and would definitely return. The private terrace overlooking the Zaan River was lovely; we watched small boats pass by for hours. The living area, though small, was perfectly designed to feel intimate and welcoming, not cramped. There’s no full kitchen, but the coffee machine is high quality, stocked with fresh beans, and there’s enough prep space. The apartment was spotless and well-maintained. Our host, Teddy, was genuinely friendly and always ready to help, making us feel very welcome. The location is unbeatable and great value: just 20 minutes by train to Amsterdam Central Station, yet in a quiet, peaceful area to relax and far cheaper than staying in the city. Bottom line: Highly recommended if you want proximity to Amsterdam without the hustle and bustle, all at great value. Minor points: The living area has limited headroom, so taller guests will need to duck in places. The bed leans slightly, but it’s comfortable and charming—part of the ship’s character.

Staying on a 1912 ship is something special; it’s not a hotel room, so you have to accept that or you might be disappointed. The train to Amsterdam takes 20 minutes.

“Heerlijk genieten op een prachtlocatie”

The ambiance, location, view, and reception (bitterballen and a drink) were great. Nothing to complain about.
