A mountain lodge in a great spot to reach the seven lakes, with a friendly manager who explained local activities, culture, and Bulgarian music. We had a good stay, excellent kitchen, dinner, and breakfast. I recommend it for anyone wanting quiet nature time and a taste of local culture.

The staff—Koko, Stephan, and Déni—were incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home in the alpine refuge. The chalet itself is a cozy mountain hideaway, perfect for those who appreciate rustic charm. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal that was truly memorable. The location is great for a break during a hike, and the departure point for the 7 Lakes trail is nearby. I had trouble finding the place with GPS, and it rained during the drive, but the road was clear up to the chalet. There were some electrical issues, though the Wi‑Fi worked fine. The dormitory was very simple, and at €22 it felt a bit pricey for what was offered.

The cabin was comfortable and well maintained, with a generator that ran most of the time and a bathroom—rare amenities for a mountain hut. Mitko was fantastic, ensuring nothing was missing, and he welcomed my large dog with open arms. The food was excellent. The only downside was that the common dining area allowed smoking, which made it hard to find a warm, smoke‑free spot.

The food, the people, and the accommodation were all good. The toilets, however, were of low quality.
