Mandy was an amazing host who took care of us from the moment we arrived; after a rainy day of walking, she helped dry our gear and sent us to a nearby onsen, even arranging laundry for our wet clothes. The meals—dinner, breakfast, and packed lunches—were all tasty, featuring local produce and nutritious options that hit the spot after a long hike. She even postponed our checkout when the rain kept pouring, drove us to the tourist centre, and handed us extra newspapers and towels so we could keep drying our boots while waiting for the bus. Such hospitality is rare, and staying here was truly delightful.
