The location was good. The room was fresh, clean, and tidy, offering a great view of the lake. The amenities block and camp kitchens were clean and tidy. The room was advertised as having cooking facilities but there was no fridge or basic cooktop, only tea and coffee making facilities – all cooking and heating had to be done in the camp kitchens. General maintenance of the grounds needs improvement and more cleaning.

The cabin is very comfortable and pretty, right on the first row by the lake with no obstructions. Little rabbits and ducks visit, so animal lovers will enjoy it. It’s a 1–2 minute walk to the lake, and a 4‑minute drive to the nearby supermarket, which is convenient. The bed is soft and very comfortable to sleep on. The private bathroom isn’t large, but the hot water is plentiful. Wi‑Fi is weak and won’t connect. It’s supposed to be a great spot for stargazing, but after 10 p.m. the public area lights in the camp are still bright, so you can’t see the stars.

The location and view are excellent. The toilets were not very clean; it seems they only clean them once a day, between 10:30 and 12:30.

We were a family of four staying next to Tekapo Springs for two nights. The kitchen, laundry, and BBQ were handy, and the room was simple but had everything we needed. The showers lacked soap, which would have been useful, and there was no firepit as shown in the promotional material.
