The building’s exterior and the corridors and reception felt a little old‑fashioned, yet the room itself was clean, fresh and seemed recently redecorated; the hotel isn’t special, but it covers all the basics for a tidy, comfortable night’s sleep. We didn’t dine there because a 5‑minute drive into Fort William offers great restaurants, and the location is perfect for walks. The reception area was slightly dated but hardly a problem, and parking was tight.

It was close to my workplace, but the fire alarm went off and the halls were crowded with bus passengers and luggage; you had to squeeze past them. If it had been a real emergency that would have been a real issue, but it wasn’t, so everything was fine.

We waited 40 minutes for someone to check us in. Everything was clean except the remote for the TV, which was dirty and unusable, and the TV itself was only 20 inches; everything else was clean.

The location is stunning, but it was very cold everywhere. The breakfast was one of the worst I’ve had at a hotel, and there was no haggis—am I in Scotland? It was very dated and needs a refurbishment.

The location of the accommodation is very nice. The furnishings are unfortunately worn. The breakfast was minimalist, served slowly, very sparse, with items forgotten, and there was no buffet. The staff at breakfast were overworked and somewhat unfriendly.
