Great location and great food, but there could have been more bar staff.

“Great stay at historic hotel with a very good restaurant.”

The room was clean, modern, and had plenty of supplies; the staff were excellent and the bistro food was really good. We enjoyed the daily roast. We expected an old‑style hotel, but the rooms are actually in a motel block behind the historic hotel, which wasn’t clear in the advertising. The rooms themselves matched the description and were of a very high standard.

The place is close to a supermarket, but the windows didn’t seal properly and the toilet and shower area were too small, making the room feel claustrophobic. I couldn’t get an early breakfast, and the Wi‑Fi password wasn’t handed over with the key. The internet was spotty and there weren’t enough toilet rolls in the room.

I skipped breakfast and left early for another destination, which worked fine for me.

The location is convenient, and the bars and lounges are clean and open.
