Bromo Camp House

The location was ideal for a trip up Mount Bromo, and the property itself is very beautiful with large open spaces where our kids could relax. The organization of the various excursions was spot‑on and the staff were very professional. The only thing that could use a tweak is the breakfast, which is already good but could be slightly improved. A massage service would also be nice to recover after the hikes.

“Overpriced, loud and bad food”

The noise level was high because the jeeps were constantly driving in and out for the different tours, and they emitted a strong diesel smell that made it hard to focus all day. We asked the hotel to arrange a transfer from the train station because we didn’t want to rely on Grab for the long ride; later we found out a Grab trip would have cost 550k IDR, yet the hotel charged us 850k IDR. They claimed it was a highway taxi, but the driver never used the highway, making the trip 3.5 hours instead of the expected 2.5 hours. We requested compensation but received none. Exhausted from the Bromo tour, we wanted breakfast but skipped it because the offering was very simple and served lukewarm.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, arranging all excursions and transport through the hotel at reasonable prices, and the many cabins on a spacious area give the place a unique charm.
