“Serviceable and what you might expect for the remote location.”
The room was a tiny cabin—pretty cool and quiet, with no other guests audible. The surroundings were beautiful. It’s in the middle of nowhere, which makes sense given the proximity to Crater Lake. Thank God for Becky’s across the street—great food and service! The reception was pretty rushed and not very welcoming—basically, “Here’s your key, you’re on your own till morning.” No one was on site between 7 pm and 8 am. They warned us about the spotty Wi‑Fi but were kind of like, “That’s the way it is—too bad if it doesn’t work.” It didn’t. I’m not attached to my phone, but it would have been good to be connected when leaving—we couldn’t access GPS and went quite a while out of our way to get back to Astoria. Definitely have directions down before staying here. There was a lot of animal noise, which was a bit disruptive to sleep.
