There was absolutely no positive side to this stay. We booked a room four days ahead through an app, yet the hotel didn’t have our reservation on file and claimed there were no rooms available (while we heard someone else staying an extra night without a prior booking). In the end we were given a room that clearly belonged to staff – it even had a “Staff only” sign on the door and was located behind the reception counter with a door that opened to the hallway, while staff were heard chatting merrily. The room we had reserved as a king‑size turned out to be two small beds, and there was a gecko on one of them. A coffee cup was provided but there was no kettle and the coffee sachets made no sense. I’ve stayed in many hotels and never encountered anything like this; I chose this place because of its attractive décor and arrived at 16:00, only to be disappointed. They offered a complimentary breakfast (pan‑fried eggs) as compensation, but only mentioned it when we were checking out at almost 11:00, after we had already left for another restaurant and were on our way. It felt like they completely ignored us. To make matters worse, a child was let into the “Staff only” room to watch cartoons while we were paying the same rate as other guests. The hotel’s response was simply “the app crashed,” without explaining why a staff‑only sign was on a guest room or why there was a back‑door behind the reception.
