The hotel is a large property with a business‑style reception area that is well‑organized. The front‑desk staff were friendly and very helpful; at our request they arranged a private driver for the whole day, which we appreciated. When we entered the suite there was a slight smell of smoke, even though the room was listed as non‑smoking; after airing it out the smell faded. The carpet looked rather old and didn’t inspire much confidence in its cleanliness, and the furniture was no longer top‑quality, though the room was overall spacious and functional. The room and bathroom were still clean and generally tidy. In the bathroom there were two issues: the door didn’t close properly and the shower phone holder was unstable, making the shower awkward; these are routine maintenance items that should be addressed promptly. The most unpleasant part of the experience, which I feel obliged to report for the benefit of other guests, was finding a cockroach coming out of the bathroom drain and appearing in the sink in the evening. I understand pest control can be a challenge in a property like this, but the incident negatively affected the overall quality of the stay. A more thorough periodic disinfestation would be desirable. Another issue was an additional payment request for the second night that I didn’t understand. The amount initially paid matched exactly the expected cost, which was the equivalent of 5 €—probably some tax, but I never encountered this in other Chinese hotels. I’m reporting it for proper awareness.
