Casterbridge Hollow Boutique Hotel

“Very disappointed. Trying to get a reimbursement or voucher for another time.”

The hotel sits in a great spot and the rooms are spacious and really cozy, and this was my second visit. The downside was the constant, loud noise from what seemed like the internal air‑conditioning system, a geyser, or some other heavy electrical/water setup below my room; it was extremely noisy, so I didn't finish my full stay.

The bathroom in the room was fantastic, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the room stayed warm throughout my stay.

A pleasant and convenient stop while heading to Kruger National Park, though the traffic outside was noisy.

“Comfortable and clean but breakfast not great”

The staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean, hot water was plentiful, and the rooms were well equipped. On the downside, the place was very noisy, like trucks passing through the room; we were moved to a lower floor which was quieter. The bedside lights didn’t work, the bed creaked a lot, and the breakfast was disappointing for a boutique hotel: government bread, cheap sugary jam, awful self‑service coffee, and unappetizing eggs. We only had breakfast twice and found alternatives for the other two days.

The rooms were spacious, tidy, and had all the essentials, plus a Nespresso machine and a decent‑sized fridge, and the location was convenient for restaurants. The bedding was great and parking was close to the room. However, the rooms were far from soundproof; you could hear everything from the toilets flushing, beds squeaking, people talking, cars, and traffic on the top floor and outside. Check‑in was somewhat disorganized with our reservation.
