The space is excellent, each room has its own toilet, a fireplace is a nice touch, and the common room is very big and good. The hosts are responsive and pleasant. It’s close to most ski areas. The only issue was that the two bathrooms/onsen were too small for our large group (15‑20 people), but with some planning we managed in the end.

Lisa and Dave were the most attentive hosts I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived we felt looked after. The lodge was warm and clean, breakfast was amazing with many options. Dave generously shared his local mountain knowledge, and Lisa was a true nurturer, going above and beyond when I was unwell. We’ll definitely book again in the future!

What a place! Dave and Lisa run a warm, welcoming lodge and work hard to make everyone feel at home. They are great hosts and go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. From the minute we got off the train in Myoko we were taken care of. They organized ski hire and lessons (even at the last minute), drove us to and from the resorts, booked and shuttled us to dinner (and even joined us some nights). Dave even took us on a guided off‑piste snow‑boarding tour of Madarao on a powder day. Kitsune has a relaxed and communal vibe that comes largely from Dave and Lisa’s caring approach. It was a truly unique and unforgettable experience. We will definitely return. Thanks, Dave and Lisa.

A unique place, and I stayed in many lodges around the world and in Japan. Lisa and Dave created an environment that feels truly like home away from home. It all feels natural and relaxed whilst delivering quality in service, cleanliness and hospitality. I travelled on my own, but found a place that was social and friendly like no other. Nothing
