“Gorąco polecam.”
We arrived for a day but stayed longer; it’s a great base for Karakol and southern Issy Kul attractions. The main part has three rooms with bathrooms and a beautifully furnished living room. Six yurts are ready for guests, all styled with taste and quality that even surpasses hotels in Kyrgyzstan. The homemade food was delicious, with fresh fruit from the garden daily. What really sets this place apart is the family running it; from day one we felt included, an amazing impression. On the second day, as guests of Svetlaya Polana, we were invited to a wedding on the same street. The pension’s location is a village with wonderful open people; while walking, children greeted us, playing without phones like we used to on the street with other kids. We’re very impressed. Communication in English and Russian was smooth. The ring road around Issy Kul is about 60‑70 % finished; in a few months a two‑lane expressway will connect to Karakol. The road to Bishkek is largely complete.
