“Kensington you are great”

We stayed in a spacious room that fit two adults and a child perfectly, with a clean layout and a heat‑pump stove for cooking. Shower pressure was excellent, and the space felt generous. The hotel’s restaurants and takeaways are just a 3‑minute walk away. Lee was fantastic—helpful, friendly, and caring. We’ll definitely return when we visit Whangarei again.

“Unsatisfied”

The location was convenient, within walking distance of convenience stores. We booked two rooms, but one had a noticeable odor; after requesting a transfer, the staff were accommodating. The Wi‑Fi was awful, constantly dropping in and out. The bed I slept on was hard and uncomfortable. Kitchen utensils were plastic, worn, and not hygienic; the frying pan’s coating was peeling and needed replacement. There was no broom, dustpan, or brush for cleaning up after the kids. The fridge didn’t contain milk, and the host offered to supply it at the start, but we ended up buying our own. With four children, the pool was closed. The rooms weren’t private enough—at night I could hear the neighbor’s toilet sounds and casual conversations in the adjacent room, and the same issue occurred in the other room we booked. The hosts provided a mobile number for contact, as they were not always onsite.

The place was very clean.

The location was good, but the motel had an older style that didn’t match the price we paid.
