The shuttle was close by, but the bedding was old and the mattress sagged, causing back pain and you could feel the springs; the dinner and breakfast were mediocre compared to most English hotels, pubs, or B&Bs.

The staff were great, yet the showers in the small rooms were lacking.

The food at both dinner and breakfast was high‑level, and the staff were polite and extremely helpful; as a former airline pilot who has stayed in many hotels, I rank this among my favorites—small, clean, relaxing, and comfortable.

The location and grounds were good, but there was no sound insulation between rooms, the lighting—especially in the bathroom—was poor, and the bedroom window looked out onto a large marquee that blocked the surrounding grounds.

There was a wide selection, the English breakfast was freshly prepared, the location was pleasant, and the room was very pretty and English‑style.
