The bathroom’s been fully redone and the water pressure was fine, which was a relief. Our room was surprisingly spacious, warm, and came with a tiny kitchen that had the basics plus a few extra coat hooks. The on‑site sauna and the ski‑storage area were handy, though the toilet seat was a bit wobbly and the pillowcases could use a refresh.

The lady who runs the place is genuinely friendly and the spot is only a short ride to the Katschberg slopes and a bit farther to Obertauern. Unfortunately, the half‑board meals felt like a set menu—soup, a main, and a tiny cake—with no real choice, and the food quality was just average. We also paid extra for a room with broken blinds that let sunrise glare in, and the only soap provided was a basic hand soap by the sink, no shower gel.

Location couldn’t be better for a ski‑long‑distance runner, and the staff were super friendly—our manager even turned the sauna on for us and there were some decent gym machines. Breakfast was solid and the guide Jörgen Ferre was helpful. The downside was the room had no window and the TV was a pain to adjust, so next time I’ll book a room with a view. Otherwise, everything was great.

The place is perfectly situated for skiing—just a four‑minute drive to the Speiereck‑Grosseck lifts and a five‑minute walk to the supermarket. We stayed in an apartment with a kitchen and a baby crib; it stayed warm and the basement had space for our skis and boots. Breakfast was modest but kept us fed, though adding eggs and fruit would be nice. The receptionist was extremely kind and always ready to help, but the sauna broke down on the second day.
