“Average but cheap”

Cheap one‑night lodging with a friendly host who let me unpack early when I had no place to store my stuff. The bathroom smells awful like many others mention, and the beds are old metal‑spring models that are very uncomfortable, so I left after a sleepless night; the fridge also whines terribly.

The hotel is quiet and fairly comfortable, with clean, spacious rooms that have ample storage and a well‑working air‑conditioner. A fridge, unlimited tap water, and a kettle with coffee are provided. The host is friendly and communication is possible even though she doesn’t speak English. The property is a bit out of the way—few restaurants, shops, or tourist spots are within walking distance, so a scooter is almost essential. The bed isn’t very comfortable, and there’s a slight sewage smell in the bathroom.

The room is well equipped: a comfortable bed, fridge, bedside lamp, two chairs, and a small table. If you don’t need the fridge, it’s better to turn it off because it’s incredibly loud and ruins sleep. The low price is understandable for a supposedly poorer location, poorer facilities, and a “simple” setup, but not for cleanliness. The bathroom was very disgusting—the unpleasant odor, old grime on the walls, toilet, and fixtures were not only borderline but unhygienic, which spoiled our two‑day stay.

It was a wonderful stay just outside Chiang Dao, quite, clean, and comfy. The only thing that could improve is the bathroom smell ;)
