The owner was friendly but not overly enthusiastic, so even introverts didn’t feel pressured; she gave great suggestions for nearby viewpoints and booked a minivan back to Luang Prabang that was much better than what I’d booked myself, with no overloading and even cheaper than expected. The room itself was clean and the bed was very comfortable, the best sleep I’ve had in Laos. The balcony shown in photos is actually a shared corridor, but guests are all on vacation and quiet, so sitting there and enjoying the river view was very relaxing. Breakfast was a à la carte meal with a fruit plate, juice, tea or coffee, simple and tasty. The only things to watch out for: the hotel isn’t on the main town street, the road to it is dusty with slopes and potholes, and there are no street lights, so carrying luggage is hard and you’ll need a flashlight at night. Also the water was cold when I stayed, and I forgot to ask how to use it. Some reviews mentioned a nearby karaoke; during my two nights, it was open one evening and I could hear it clearly until about 8:30 pm. For a foreigner, listening to local songs can be an interesting experience, but it depends on personal preference.
