“Not as advertised”

What a disappointment. The site was very off‑road and we arrived to a single, isolated tent, not part of a larger complex. It felt run‑down, with holes in the mosquito net and mice in the bathroom. It was basically basic camping. We couldn’t stay there and found a luxury resort with a pool for the same price. The owner was helpful and his staff took us to find another place.

“Toffe locatie in de natuur, maar het geld niet helemaal waard.”

The location was great and it was nice that the host arranged the safari and transport from the city. You should expect fewer facilities at a place like this, but the heat makes it uncomfortable that there’s no fan or air‑conditioning, which makes it much less comfortable. Also there are no eating spots outside the camp itself. The food was very simple and not always good, but that’s not a problem for a place like this. Unfortunately we paid the full price here, more than we had paid at any other place in the weeks before. Luckily the owner was willing to reduce the food price, but it didn’t add to the enjoyment.

“Disappointing”

The location was spot on and the staff were super friendly, and the dinner was tasty. We had to cut our stay short because the accommodation was in bad shape. The cancellation process was handled with great service, support and understanding. Thank you. The photos were 5‑7 years old and the tent looked dilapidated. The mosquito netting over the windows had holes, door handles were broken, you could lock the front but had to use a zip on the back, there was a strong chemical smell, and the bathroom and shower floors were ripped and broken.

“Stay away from this place”

Dinner set up by Son + father + wife The staff were very kind and amazing hospitality. 1:- The way to find the property. There was no information and it is impossible to get there with TUK TUK or car. You only get there by 4 x 4. No signs and Google maps will bring you somewhere else where you get stuck with the TUK TUK. 10-20 min bumpy road. 2:- There was 4 frogs inside the toilet - WTF good luck going at night time with frogs everywhere to the bathroom No mosquito net, knowing there is mosquitos and bugs in the room. The tent has holes on each window, no air flow in the room - they keep all windows close because you can not see how bad and broken the tent is, no fan and the room is dark. There was no door handle to open and close the room easy. Everything seemed to break apart. 3:- Shower has very very slow cold water and it’s outside, you can shower and see the frogs are showering with you, while mosquitoes are watching both of you. 4:- Owner lives in Colombo, she has very very poor communication with guest. Gives no information about cash only, off road / bumpy road for 10-20 min, no access with TUK TUK or car, no electricity, not kids friendly, over price dinner USD 12 plus 15.5% TAX for rice and 2 small pieces of chicken (whatever part of the chicken it was, smaller than a golf ball) 5:- Barely oh wait no phone reception or electricity for phone charging or other electronic devices 6:- I cannot recommend it at all for toddlers. We travel a lot and our son has experienced a lot but this place was just not safe and good for kids. He scratched his back on the wooden frame of the bed badly. He screamed taking showers there (and he is a water boy), he was sweating at night time so bad and got bitten all over. 7:- We booked it based on 5 star review - now we see on our own experience it is 1 stars. I really don’t know what people like about this place. If you wanna experience nature, hike, take a tent and have 100% better spot than this place. Can’t recommend it for nobody and it’s way over priced for what you get. Food and sleeping wise

The owner is very nice and tries his best to meet our needs. It was a wild experience and the bed was large. It was uncomfortable when all the tent windows were closed. There was no BBQ, only Sri Lankan food for dinner, and no socket for charging devices or a hair dryer.
