“Beau mais service à améliorer”

The buildings are bright and colorful, and the hot pools look stunning. The place feels calm and serene, with beautiful gardens full of coatis everywhere. The spa is gorgeous and the staff are very kind. The pools are lovely and the breakfast was good, plus the parking is secure. However, the service doesn’t match a 5‑star rating: we lost our spa reservation, were asked to pay again even though we had already paid, and the toilet flushes were defective. Also, rooms of the same category vary a lot; some ground‑floor rooms are very dark, cramped, and lack a balcony.

“Nice & lovely… but Not quite there yet for the price”

Nice hotel, thoughtful restoration, good spa and very nice spa staff. Given the price we paid was well above the average, some areas for improvement: 1. Staff at breakfast seemed annoyed when asked for coffee or menu questions – they weren’t as attentive as in most Mexican hotels and seemed bothered to provide napkins, cutlery or help with simple questions during breakfast. 2. They didn’t accept the credit card at check‑in – a platinum card was handed to them – and had trouble with the billing and payment system, chasing every bill as if it were a 2‑star hotel instead of handling payment more efficiently; a breakfast waiter even came to the pool on day two looking for a bill. 3. The breakfast was extremely expensive for Mexico – over $40 for a couple is crazy. 4. The pool opens late and closes early; service at the pools seems as problematic as breakfast. 5. Construction everywhere makes it less luxurious. 6. Main rooms are very dark – barely any light.

“No está a la altura del costo.”

The place is quiet and not many people are around. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food isn’t up to the level of the place – it’s basic, not bad, but not noteworthy, which is a shame because it could encourage guests to spend more time on the premises. Also, while the main pool is fine, one end is under construction for new buildings, and the noise is annoying and never warned about or compensated. The new rooms are fine but lack the original hacienda essence.

Everything was perfect: service, room, bed very comfy and the food was amazing.
