The room was very cute, single and surprisingly spacious, and because it was a corner room I had a door to the terrace where I could see the starry sky and the Aiguille early in the morning, a memorable moment. From the room you can see it right away (assuming it’s the Aiguille). Breakfast was simple but heartfelt, with bread, cheese, ham, and a subtle Swiss flavor that was moving. The staff were all cheerful and courteous, explaining things in English and German, which made me feel at ease even though I barely understood either language. The hotel is relatively old and, being in a mountainous area, it’s probably a Swiss cultural thing that windows are opened for ventilation, so insects appear in the non‑winter months; keep that in mind. The station is about 8 minutes away, but you have to climb a steep slope after the station, so people with weak legs, children, or the elderly would benefit from a car. Even energetic guests find carrying a suitcase difficult, and college students or new graduates often feel out of breath, so most guests are exhausted by the time they reach the reception. Once settled, though, those little issues fade, and I had a great time.
