Everyone on the team greeted me warmly. The rooms were so hot that even with the fan on it felt uncomfortable.

I savored the crepes at breakfast and the view of Victoria from my room was gorgeous—sleep was perfect, 10/10. The shower head in room 14 needed repair, the water didn’t drain properly because of the mat and instead leaked out of the water cabinet and behind the toilet. We also ran into problems with the shower gel bottles, so the showers weren’t as enjoyable.

The staff—especially the kitchen crew—were brilliant, and Mr Musa deserves a special shoutout for the breakfast omelette. The environment was quiet and peaceful, and next time I’ll book a room facing the lake. There was no lift, but the staff were very helpful with luggage. It rained “violently” and the staff ran out with umbrellas—true hospitality, even though we loved the rain on our skin. The electricity kept flickering, and at one point I had to call, but a generator that was turned on always saved the day.
