The guest house has a warm family welcoming vibe and is very zen. We stayed with our family at Ma's family guest house for two nights and we rented two rooms, top (3rd) floor and first floor. Both rooms were comfortable and had a nice little terrace, with view over greenery. The 3rd floor room had a view over nearby temples and hills. West lake is at walking distance, passing through a very nice traditional style garden (along the road leading to West Lake, just 10m to the left, for most of the way there is a pathwalk immersed in nature and ponds.). It takes only 15 minutes to walk to West Lake and you arrive right next to Leifeng Pagoda, one of the greatest highlights. If you walk just 10 more minutes along the lake (headed west), you arrive to the official onboarding site for the traditional small wooden oar-boat rides (very calm and quiet private trips around the lake's hidden gems for circa 180RMB an hour). If you want to take a cab, there is a small road 30m (100feet) from the guest house and it takes less than 15 minutes to get to the central shopping and eating neighbourhood (about 18RMB. 15 minutes considering trafic, if no trafic then 8 minutes)
