Guest House Takazuri-KITA

The couple running the guesthouse were charming and the mountain setting in Gokaiama was lovely. The room was very comfortable with good air‑conditioning, and the shared showers and bathrooms were tidy and well maintained. It was worth staying for a night. We arrived early because of the weather and found the place under‑furnished; the nearest convenience store is a 20‑minute drive, so bringing snacks is wise. The price is a bit steep compared to other inns, but the experience justifies it.

“Fantastic rural stay in gokayama”

The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, pointing us toward local eateries and even handing out a coupon for nearby onsens. The only drawback was the remote spot – a car is a must to reach it.

“Perfect stay”

We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were extremely welcoming, kind, and accommodating, doing everything they could to make our visit enjoyable. The accommodation was lovely, the location breathtaking, and everything was perfect – we truly enjoyed our time here and would love to return.

“Allotjament tradicional acollidor”

A traditional accommodation with great value for the area. The beds are comfortable and a bedside lamp is a nice touch. The facilities are clean, and the shared bathroom is tidy. The room is tight for four people, and breakfast could be more generous and varied, even if it meant paying a bit extra. Overall, it’s fine.

“Casa tradicional japonesa agradable”

The family that runs the place is delightful. It’s a large traditional Japanese house. We booked dinner at the house and it was excellent; everything they prepare comes from their own garden. The shared bathroom is very clean and fully equipped. Parking is available on the premises, but there’s nothing in the village. The futons are very comfortable. However, you have to make the futons yourself, and they don’t provide sheets or leave them unpacked when you leave. The room wasn’t very clean – there were plenty of spiders and dust buildup. A sign warned that there might be smelly bedbugs and that you could pick them up with tweezers and put them in a bottle they left. We were staying for two nights, and the first one was enough.
