The building itself is quite beautiful, and despite our troubles the staff did try their best. There is a huge disconnect between the way the property markets itself and the reality. The catalogue in the rooms talks a lot about slow living and luxury, but this is not a luxurious stay location. Though the building is beautiful, it isnt accessible by car, and you cant call a Richshaw/Tuktuk there via Uber or Ola, so you need to walk to the edge of the old town if you want to go anywhere else. The sound insulation is non-existent, and the restaurant which is close played karaoke until 11pm every night, which wasnt great as we were travelling with our young daughter who couldnt sleep. The staff did say we could move rooms, but when you have paid for a suite, and you have the option to move to a small interior room with no windows its not exactly enticing, we ended up just leaving for elsewhere. When we went to breakfast there was no-one there to serve, and it took a long time to even get menus, let alone for the food to arrive. The route to the bathroom in the suite was so low and narrow that I had to bend over and walk sideways to get to it. As many of the windows had no glass pane, no doubt a historical feature, to keep the room cool the air conditioning blasted cold air right into your face in the bed. I think if we were in our 20s and diddnt have a child, it would have some old world charm, and these things wouldnt matter as much. But it should really be marketed as more a budget adventure option than the luxurious language used by the property. It seemed like there was also renovation going on, and we could hear the sound of power tools during the day

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Amoraya Udaipur, where the peaceful atmosphere and old‑world charm made us feel like we were in a small slice of Udaipur; the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the rooftop was a great spot to relax after a day of sightseeing; the staff were friendly and helpful, welcoming us and ensuring our comfort, which really mattered; the location was convenient for exploring the city while still providing a cozy retreat; overall it was a wonderful experience and we give it a 10/10, and we would happily return next time we visit Udaipur. ❤️

The hospitality was great, with staff who were very attentive and friendly and ready to help whenever I needed something; however, the walking distance is about 15 minutes with luggage because cars are not allowed to pass a certain area, and the path is not straight, which made it difficult.
