“Go for the view and stay for the view!”
We had the whole place to ourselves, enough room for six people, and every moment we could stare at the Bambarakanda waterfall from our apartment. The bathroom had a fancy mirror that glowed with lights. Food could be ordered and the caretaker would prepare it. The view of the waterfall and mountains kept changing with the time of day, so we could keep looking for hours. The caretaker was polite, nice, and helpful throughout. On the downside, the pool was empty and there was no proper restaurant—just one apartment and a single caretaker. Some electrical work was unfinished, with possible live wires hanging out 😰. The upstairs sleeping area lacked privacy; curtains would have helped. Water pressure in the toilet and shower was terrible, and the bidet shower wouldn’t work—caretaker apologized but it wasn’t fixed. Parking was an issue; we had to use a neighbour’s spot. Tea and coffee were initially charged for, then later offered for free. The narrow, winding road to the property is barely wide enough for one vehicle and the surface is rough, so it’s best to stay put and not plan to go in and out. The TV wasn’t smart and there was no working internet or satellite TV during our stay.
