A lovely room with a view, and the owner pointed us toward Manjapaara view when we had a few hours to spare, helped us get there, and we enjoyed the scenery.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Cave Valley! From the moment we arrived, the friendly and helpful staff made us feel so welcome. Our room was well-equipped, comfortable, and perfectly situated with a stunning mountain view from the balcony, offering cool breezes and mesmerizing valley views. The resort's location is unbeatable, with a private path leading directly to clean, quiet rooms, perfect for relaxing. The staff went above and beyond, and we felt truly revitalized. Only walkable distance to Edakkal cave. Highly recommended for anyone seeking peace and beauty! Perfect for couples & family. In the room description it shows that it has a private pool. But actually there is no private pool here. The property has only a common pool

The location and ambience were good, but the host's behaviour didn't live up to what a good host should be. We booked on 12/9/25 for 8 people (Family room) which had 3 rooms and other amenities mentioned (attached pic). We were traveling on our bikes, reached by 9 PM. When we arrived they gave us 3 rooms – 3 double beds and extra beds with only 1 toilet cum bathroom for 8 people. We were 4 men and 4 women. When asked how it was possible for all 8 people to share 1 toilet, the host said it was mentioned on the booking page. In the booking reference it wasn't mentioned as one washroom for 3 rooms and as mentioned there is no private pools. For the whole property there is only one common pool. Instead of changing rooms, he kept asking us to pay an additional 3 K for attached washrooms (money mattered). Isn't it common for 1 room cum toilet to be there? When told it's a common provision provided by many hosts, he argued saying you didn't mention that you had women in your troop. When we booked family rooms it can be men & women too. If he had only 1 washroom for 3 rooms, he should have informed the guests beforehand and also asked who was traveling along as a host. As we had arrived at 9 PM and check‑out was at 11 AM next day, we didn't pay extra just for the washroom. We used the common washroom near the pool as we were the only troop guest in the whole property. Coming to the food, it's not in‑house prepared food. They get it from outside and they don't give you what you order. Their menu card is waste. Appam was Kerala parota, plain ghee rice with no gravy to it, chilly chicken gravy for parato became pepper dry roast, 2 qty of egg rice had no or 1 egg in it, 2 chicken biryani bcm 1qty. Morning complimentary breakfast was even worse. Idli & Channa weren't cooked, appam was the dosa. Food & hospitality was worse. Ambience alone doesn't get you good guests, hosting & food also matters. ++ on 13/9/25 at 6 AM there were 6 girls from Delhi as guests. The room they had booked was vacant, he could have given accommodation early on humanity basis. But the room was provided to them at 10 AM. Till that the girls used common washroom and were lying on the benches of the food area. Which wasn't good at all. The host met the girls in the morning at 6:30. When asked he told he was judging their behaviour it seems. I don't know what a host is he. For the girls also he might have asked extra charges for early check‑in which they ignored just like we did. Bad hosting by the Mr & Mrs hosts. The housekeeping people are from Arunachal Pradesh who don't know Kerala local culture & food habits. These hosts treat them badly too. The bed looks second‑hand because the springs were poking and bedsheets were in pale colour.
