“Peaceful retreat by the lake”

The location is beautiful and peaceful, the host was friendly and served us an amazing breakfast, but the composting toilet was a drawback – though we were camping, so we accepted it.

“A good basic camp spot with a very comfortable.”

A fairly large tent with a very cozy bed was set up on a raised platform that had electricity, letting us charge our gadgets. The spot was beside a stunning lake, exactly like the photos, so we took a swim and the hostess kindly gave us shoes to protect our feet from shells. Thick towels, extra blankets and even a stove were inside the tent, though we didn’t need them. The temperature was just right and it was wonderfully quiet. We did feel a bit exposed being just over the host’s back fence; that proximity was necessary for the power, which was nice. A hose over the fence supplied a natural shower and water, but there was no privacy. We bought bottled water after being told the tap water was clean. The natural toilet was unpleasant and the water wasn’t clean either—maybe we’re just fussy. Everything else worked well and we were given a headlamp for night trips. Parking our car next to the tent was very convenient and felt safe. We felt exposed, disliked the toilet and hose, and wanted a sauna that wasn’t in the host’s house, which made us uncomfortable.

“Not great value for money”

The location, view, and peacefulness were great, the bed was comfy, and the first‑morning breakfast in front of the tent was tasty with a nice setting. We enjoyed the fireplace and swimming in the lake, and we were given robes to wear, though they were very small even for people not as tall as us. It was too expensive for what you get – the price didn’t include breakfast or shower. We ordered breakfast for an extra €30, which is insane in the Estonian countryside, and it only included pancakes and jam for two, two cups of filter coffee, and a plate with cheese and smoked sausage slices—no eggs or bread for sandwiches. A mirror in the tent would be useful. I wouldn’t stay longer than one night in the future because of the lack of shower facilities and the poor value for money.
