“Charming place, helpful staff.”
The outdoor entrance was charming, like Sapa itself, the room was roomy, the facilities worked, and our contact answered questions and helped with luggage storage after check‑in. We didn’t get a greeting on arrival; we had to follow directions from our contact. It rained a few hours before check‑in, and a little water leaked out of the bathroom when we entered. There are many stairs to climb, which would be tough for elderly or disabled guests.
The spot is exceptional in the city center, the room is fairly large, the mattress is comfortable with a heating blanket for winter if needed, the bedding is clean, it’s not too noisy because it’s slightly set back from the street despite the difficult access with many stairs. There was no hot water for two days, the bathroom was not cleaned upon arrival, and the staff was friendly once we found them.
The location is great. However, there are too many stairs.

The location is great, but the kitchen is very unhygienic, the shared bathroom was dirty and unsanitary, the host never met us in person making it hard to fix issues, and there are many stairs.
I arrived in the morning after an overnight bus from Hanoi, and they held my luggage until a room became available, letting me enjoy a full day. The only downside was the few stairs leading up to the hotel, which made carrying heavy bags a bit tricky.
