A lovely place with warm, personal service of a very high standard. The food was excellent, both at breakfast and dinner. It’s easy to get to, with plenty of parking, and wonderfully peaceful. Highly recommended!. All is good

I booked a ground‑floor room and was told we would definitely get one, which sounded great! When I arrived, there were no ground‑floor rooms at all—just two floors up with stone stairs, and from the other side it was actually one floor lower because the building sits on a hill. They tried to solve the issue by offering their own suggestions, claiming they could help. My husband is disabled, walks poorly, and uses an electric scooter. They assumed a wheelchair and offered a metal grate to lift him up, saying they would push—dangerous! So no, no, and no again. I was angry because they lied about the ground floor. Then they cancelled a no‑show with a fee waiver so I couldn’t leave a review. They were kind enough to give me a chance, but if you specifically search for a ground‑floor room you’ll see this place, and that’s really bad!

The staff were amazing, so kind and attentive and clearly very very good at what they do. We felt very welcome and had such an enjoyable stay. The space both in the rooms and throughout were very comfortable, inviting places to be and to spend time in. The food (both dinner and breakfast) was phenomenal, one of our top meals of a long trip so far. If we are ever back in the area, this would be our number one pick to stay at and would recommend it to anyone, even if it requires a detour. Nothing. That we werent there long enough!
