Pensión Basagoiti

The location, service, and cleanliness were good, and the daily trash disposal and kettle were appreciated. What was missing were a chair, a small shelf, and the lack of spoons, small plates, and cups; a small fee could have made the stay more pleasant.

The rooms are on the top floor, so they get plenty of sunlight. The floors are very clean, the mattress is comfortable, and the shower is cool. The underground station is very close for getting to other areas, and there are nice cafés, restaurants, and bakeries nearby. The Wi‑Fi password isn’t secure enough.

It’s a simple, inexpensive place suitable for a single person. I liked the atmosphere around the hotel; the evening noise isn’t for everyone. In the morning it was pleasantly quiet, except for the planes that start flying over the district at 7 am. Public transport is well connected with bus and metro, no more than 10 minutes away, and there are shops and cafés nearby. It’s not far if you want a view over the Ria and the harbor. The room had a chair, but I missed a small shelf and the nightstand was a bit too small.

The spot is spot on, right in Algorta’s center and a stone’s throw from Puerto Viejo, with the metro only 5 minutes away. The room looked nice and the beds were super comfy. Even though it’s downtown, the area calms down at night. The staff were very friendly. The bathroom, however, needs a serious makeover: the shower is tiny, the screen doesn’t seal properly and there’s mold. It’s a second floor without an elevator—no problem for us, but worth noting. It’s a bit pricey for a pension.
