“Schöne Unterkunft in nettem kleinem Ort, sehr sehr ruhig 😌”

I stayed at a nicely located place that was very clean and comfortable, but there was no English service, only a little French. Outside of the season the place was a dead zone. The only dining options were the restaurant at the campsite or the local bar menu, and I had to find out about those myself. The food wasn’t very exciting, there were no shops nearby, and breakfast was pretty simple—I even wanted to offer a glass of wine 🍷 to make up for it!

The hotel is small and cosy, run by a family, and sits just a 5‑10 minute drive from the entrance of the Alt Pireneu national park, making it the closest hub to all the trails. The room is tiny but sparkling clean, the beds are comfortable, and even though there’s no AC the thick walls kept the heat from bothering us. Parking is located right behind the building with plenty of spots. If you plan to drive into the park’s car park, remember to register your licence plate in advance and pay the daily fee of 5 € on the park website the day before; the URL is listed at the tourist information point in the central square. The hotel offers both breakfast and dinner for an extra charge—8 € for breakfast and 19 € for dinner, which includes house wine. Breakfast comes with toast, butter, and a large portion of cold cuts or two kinds of marmalade. The only downside was the lack of a refrigerator in the room, which made it hard to store the food we packed for our mountain lunches, but the host kindly offered to keep our supplies in their fridge.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious, and the dinner felt like home—home‑cooked and good. The only issue was that the bed was a bit small for two people.
