“Pleasant stay but very poor value for money!”
The room was fine and the staff were helpful, and the dinner and breakfast were very good. However, The Tongue was one of ten hotels/B&Bs/Guest Houses we stayed at during our week‑long N.C. 500 Tour. Our single‑night stay was pleasant but offered extremely poor value for money; the price for accommodation, dinner, bed and breakfast was four times higher than the next most expensive hotel we stayed at, and that hotel was vastly superior to The Tongue in every respect. Parking was limited and far from Reception, and accessing the reception was tricky because it was far away and hard to locate (no signs and an underwhelming entrance).
