The property sits directly across from the beach. The manager and staff were amazing and happy to accommodate any needs we had. Breakfast and dinner were amazing and having them by the sea was lovely.

The best thing of all is the hotel staff. Charming and attentive at all times. They greet you with a juice. The room is renovated, the bed is very comfortable. The location is great because you are 1 minute walking to the beach. In front they have a restaurant with very tasty food and sea views.

I traveled with my little child. The place offers friendliness, comfort, and very tasty food. All staff’s warm smiles and sincere attitude made us very happy throughout the trip. We also received great help with laundry. During the trip we visited the beach in advance, but it was very messy and even taking a taxi was difficult, with many hawkers giving a bad impression. In contrast, Matara Beach is very quiet and people are calm. So if you travel with a child, this beach and this place are highly recommended. For families, the biggest advantage of this place is “people” and “food.” The child dislikes spicy and salty food, but the chef adapts the dishes to the child’s taste. Also the workers play soccer with the child and make a good time, which allowed us to share affection with others. Thank you very much. No shortcomings. I would visit again to walk with the workers and the beautiful Matara Beach. When my child was sick and needed medicine, the owner’s lady drove us to a pharmacy a bit far from the place, which made it very convenient. Thank you.

Very nice rooms, friendly staff. Swiss/Sri Lanka owners. The breakfast in the pavilion by the sea was dreamy. A washing machine and drying rack are available free of charge. Polhena Beach was very special, as many locals also visit with buses. Many restaurants along the street by the sea. Good help with organizing TukTuk trips.
