Penzion U Bernardýna sits in the countryside, and if it were nearer a town it could demand a higher price because the place is truly exceptional. The room was spacious and superb, offering all the amenities one would expect in a 4‑star hotel: a fridge, kettle, tea and coffee facilities, glasses, cups, and so on. The en‑suite bathroom matched that level of care. The owners have put a lot of thought into every detail, and the quiet setting is surrounded by lovely gardens and a lake with geese. We were on our way home, so it was just a one‑night stay, but I felt it was a pity not to write a book or bring a few days of work because the comfort here would make for a perfect longer visit. Breakfast was delicious, featuring wonderful Czech rye bread with caraway seeds, and we even received fresh donuts as an extra treat.
